DECK HEADS 2010 – SHOW & EVENT RECAP

This past Friday in Philadelphia, the skateboard and art gallery scene collided head on in the collaboration and celebration of Deck Heads 2010 group art show.  I had the pleasure of getting my hands covered in paint as one of the contributors, creating a one of kind hand painted skate deck for the show.

My contribution is sure to scare off some National League pitchers this baseball season.  As my “WEREWERTH” image depicts a crazed interpretation of the Phillies right fielder and hitting machine, Jayson Werth. The image was definitely inspired by his new grizzly look this year, that I totally approve of.

On with the evidence:

Deck Heads 2010

Were Werth / acrylic on wood / 8 x 32″ / 2010

As for some background on the event, it was hosted by Exit Skate Shop who is Philadelphia’s premiere skate shop located in Northern Liberties. Proceeds were split between the artist and EXIT who is using all their proceeds for local skate parks and alternative sports awareness in urban communities. Good Stuff!!
